Women in the Armed Forces
Do you want to join the military? The Armed Forces needs women like you!
The Swiss Armed Forces is more colourful than you may think. There is already a great diversity in the branches. However, there are not yet many women. The Swiss Armed Forces therefore wants to increase the proportion of women. Do you want to be one of the Swiss women who voluntarily do military or civilian service?
At age 18, all Swiss women automatically receive an invitation to an orientation day in their canton of residence. This day provides you with information about the services, your options and your opportunities.

The Recruitment Command is responsible for questions regarding recruitment. You can contact them by email (kdo-rekr.persa@vtg.admin.ch) or telephone (+41 58 489 26 72).
You can gain insights into the military through these women, on visiting days at basic training [link available in German, French, and Italian] or by taking part in a taster day [link only available in German].
