Master Warrant Officer Toth Istvan Hungary

I am Master Warrant Officer Istvan Toth. During my 22 years of service, which I spent in the Hungarian Defence Forces, I had the opportunity to study and complete various courses at home and abroad, from the USA, Poland to Italy. Having completed several missions abroad and with these experiences behind me, I am currently serving in a permanent NATO position in Sigonella, Italy. It is a huge honor and confidence that my unit nominated me and I was able to enter the Non-comissioned Advanced Leadership course in Switzerland.

Perhaps from the first minute I can say that I completely stepped out of my comfort zone again and found myself in a completely new environment where I had to complete this fantastic course together with experienced and professional NCO’s from other nations, together and working as a team. If we add up the years of military experience of the 29 soldier from the 21 nations who make up the course class, we get a very high number in the lot of hundreds. Infrantry, Air Force, Navy all segments from the military. All this experience was at our disposal throughout and helped us in solving the tasks. We received knowledge from the institution and the instructors that will help us in our further careers and that everyone can apply, regardless of their current position or nationality. These skills and tools will help us in both domestic and international environments and strengthen our leadership advisory and command assistant functions so that we can work even more efficiently and effectively in the future. To this improvement and information that we received here, above all, the curriculum, created with almost "Swiss clockwork" precision, and the prepared and experienced professional instructors all contributed, and the experts were the guarantee of a successful course. The wide palette of the curriculum included self-awareness, personal leadership skills up to the perfect application of the mentoring process, not forgetting the media knowledge and practices, where we could get a kind of mirror, how we are, who we are and develop our skills even from the experiences gained during an interview. These are just a few examples of the materials that were in the curriculum and contributed to our development and getting to know each other. This is the point I would like to emphasize, getting to know each other and helping each other. We learned and solved the tasks here during the course as a team, and I am sure that we will continue to solve future work, missions in this spirit with the knowledge and tools we learned and acquired here. Thank you for the opportunity to study here and I wholeheartedly recommend the course and this wonderful, hospitable country to my fellow non-commissioned officers, where I spent 12 useful days and became the proud owner of the NCO Advanced Leadership Course in multinational environment diploma.

I would like to say thanks to the Swiss Armed Forces College for this great course.
