Military World Winter Games 2025
Under the motto «Military Champions for Peace», Switzerland will host the fifth CISM Military World Winter Games from March 23 to 30, 2025. The city of Lucerne will be the center of the sports event as host city and will welcome more than 1'500 athletes from over 40 nations.
In the midst of world-renowned winter sports destinations, military sports will have the unique opportunity to perform at the highest levels of sport on the best competition facilities, host sustainable and environmentally friendly World Games, and promote friendship among CISM nations.
Venues and disciplines
The sports to be held are alpine skiing and snowboarding, Parachute-Ski, the Nordic sports competitions of cross-country skiing and biathlon, as well as alpine skiing, ski orienteering and patrol skiing. Performed in the well-known winter sports regions of Engelberg/Titlis and Andermatt/Goms. In addition, the two sports cross-country running and sport climbing will be held. This gives countries without a winter sports tradition the chance to participate in the event.
Parasports
By organizing parasports events to enable disabled soldiers to participate in the Military World Winter Games, the organizing committee is committed to the integration of sports for the disabled.
The fifth CISM Winter Military World Games are in line with Switzerland's efforts for a green economy and a sustainable environmental policy. The staging of this event demonstrates that modern major sporting events can be organized in an economically responsible, socially sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. All sports competitions will be held on existing infrastructure and will be reached primarily by public transport.
United by the great sporting enthusiasm of the population and connected by short, direct transport routes, Switzerland is an ideal host for the athletes from all CISM nations.
