What are the tasks of a PPS A specialist?
The specialists of the PPS A deal with psychological interviews for members of the army. In this context, you will listen to military in need and propose appropriate solutions to the problem. You will support the troop doctors in the assessment of fitness for duty.
About the Technical Training Course
Any organisation providing a professional service must be able to count on competent and trained members. For this reason, the PPS A offers a tailor-made training course for PPS A specialist candidates: the Technical Training Course (TTS). The course consists of several learning modules on psychological topics tailored to the context and needs of the Swiss Army. For three weeks, the candidates learn about the most common psychological problems in the military context and the terminology used.
Candidates benefit from a thorough and high quality training by experienced psychologists and renowned specialised schools.
Practical information
- The training lasts 3 weeks and takes place at the end of the summer during weeks 35 to 37.
- The training takes place every two years, i.e. in even years.
- The entire course takes place at Thun's military training ground.
No military experience? No problem!
If you do not have any military experience, you will be able to familiarise yourself with the military world for 3 weeks.
During these three weeks you will experience the reality of a recruit school first hand. The completion of this period will allow you to access the Technical Training Course (TTS) and finally join our Team of specialists PPS A!

First of all, submit your complete application (CV, motivation letter and the form here). If you meet the requirements to become an PPS A specialist, you will be able to participate in the Technical Training Course (TTS) which takes place every two years. If you meet the requirements to become a SPP A specialist, you will be invited to an information day in which we will introduce you to the service, conduct a short skills assessment and an individual interview. If the process is successful, you will be invited to participate in the Technical Training Course, which we are looking forward to!
