Joint Operations Command
The Joint Operations Command is responsible for planning and leading operations of the Swiss Armed Forces.
The Joint Operations Command plans and conducts all operations and deployments of the armed forces. It is responsible for:
- the basic readiness of the subordinate formations and staffs;
- the readiness of formations and staffs for planned and unplanned events;
- the mobilization and operational readiness of the deployed formations and staffs in the event of an incident;
- planning, leading and evaluating all operations and deployments at home and abroad.

The Military Intelligence Service, the army, the four territorial divisions, the military police, the air force, the SWISSINT competence center and the Special Forces Command (KSK) are subordinate to the Chief of the Joint Operations Command, Lieutenant General Laurent Michaud.
