Brigadier General Nager commands the Infantry Training Unit, and is responsible for its basic training. The Commander of the Infantry Training Unit is accountable to the Chief of Training and Education Command.

The Commander of the Infantry Training Unit is in charge of the infantry schools for recruits, NCOs and officers, the infantry stand-by battalion, and the armed forces mountain service and military bands centres of excellence. He assists superior authorities in planning, evaluating, procuring, fielding and liquidating equipment and systems.
