Deputy Commander of Territorial Division 1

A conscript officer, Brigadier General Charrière is the Deputy Commander of Territorial Division 1, which is responsible for supporting civilian authorities in exceptional situations in the cantons of Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Jura, Neuchatel, Vaud and Valais. Territorial Division 1 comprises one command support battalion, five infantry battalions, one engineer battalion and one rescue battalion. Brigadier General Charrière deputises the Commander of Territorial Division 1 in all of his responsibilities when the latter is absent.
