World Economic Forum (WEF)

In 2023, the armed forces will once again support the civilian authorities in the canton of Graubünden in carrying out security tasks in connection with the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Parliament approved the deployment of a maximum of 5000 soldiers on these civil affairs support operations from 2022 until 2024. The 2023 WEF meeting will be held from 16 to 20 January, the army's mission lasts from 10 to 26 January.

Commander Territorial Division 4

Major General Brülisauer commands the Territorial Division 4. He is responsible for civil affairs support in exceptional situations and is directly accountable to the Chief of Joint Operations Command. The territorial region comprises the cantons of Appenzell-Innerrhoden, Appenzell-Ausserrhoden, Glarus, St. Gallen, Schaffhausen, Thurgau and Zurich.
The Commander Territorial Division 4 is in charge of one command support battalion, four infantry battalions, one engineer battalion and one rescue battalion.
