53rd CISM Orienteering World Championships in Stans
The 53rd CISM Orienteering World Championships will take place in Stans from 19 to 25 October 2026.
For a week, Switzerland will welcome the world’s best CISM orienteers. The events will take place in Stans. Stans has already proven itself as a host venue for the CISM Military World Winter Games, where the cross-country competitions were held.
Eight competitions will be held
1. Individual sprint (men)
2. Individual sprint (women)
3. Individual long distance (men)
4. Individual Long Distance (Women)
5. Team classification, based on the two individual competitions (Men)
6. Team classification, based on the two individual competitions (Women)
7. Relay (Men)
8. Relay (Women)
The venues are Brennwald, Kernwald, Eigenthal, Meggerwald, Sarnen and Engelberg.
