What is command support?
Command support (CS) encompasses all operations and infrastructures that guarantee the ability to command the Armed Forces and the national crisis management. This includes the operation of command facilities, crisis-resistant telecommunication infrastructures, computer centers, civil and military informatics applications as well as permanent monitoring of airspace by radar. Further special tasks include for example electronic warfare, the embassy network system, language specialist services and cryptology.
Spheres of competence: high-tech in action
Information and communication technology (ICT)
Current and complete information are required for successful leadership in difficult situations. In order to be able to quickly process and safely distribute data, language and picture information, we operate the most modern telecommunication and informatics systems. According to requirements we operate with permanently installed or mobile systems.
Electronic warfare (EW)
As a means to obtain information relevant to security policy and the Army, electronic reconnaissance is indispensable in modern conflict situations. Our specialists are therefore working with highly complex systems. These systems make detection and analysis as well as interference of foreign electromagnetic emissions of wireless telecommunication possible.
Headquarters (HQ)
Government authorities as well as the Armed Forces must be able to command and coordinate the required forces and organizations in the cases of catastrophes, crises and conflicts, but also in order to secure large events. Therefore we are maintaining and operating secured command facilities that feature the required installations around the clock.
