The NBC defence corps

The NBC defence corps consist of the 320 NBC Defence Armed Forces Staff Section, NBC Def Lab 1, NBC Def Ban 10, the NBC def task force coy, NBC Def Ban 20 (reserve) reinforced with the EEVBS task force elements (professionals) and MORA (profs/militia). With the reorganisation of the NBC def task force coy, that up to now has always been compiled on an ad hoc basis from NBC Def Lab 1, we are approaching our final objective. Manpower will be increased again in this process to meet the required level of operational readiness. Here it is of great importance to us that, apart from soldiers and cadre trained in our NBC def school, we will also be able to assign career changers with correspondingly extensive civilian expertise and practical NBC experience to our force. This staff will be prepared for their task in courses that are specifically adjusted to their activity.

Our resources for likely operations

Together with the Spiez Lab (LS) of the Federal Office for Civil Protection, we constantly maintain an element for managing the effects of terrorist C-attacks in the form of the DDPS Operations Team (EEVBS).
The Armed Forces Radioactivity Monitoring Team (MORA) is a resource that is deployed in the event of increased levels of radioactivity on behalf of the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC). MORA consists of professionals from the NBC Centre of Competence and select and especially trained NBC militia officers. In addition, two task force elements (mob labs BLUE and YELLOW) can be deployed in the event of increased radioactivity by the Spiez Lab and/or NBC Def Lab 1 or also by the National Emergency Operations Centre. Together with our NBC defence forces this constitutes a considerable range of performances that we wish to continually expand until we achieve our OBJECTIVE.
