How to join the MP spec det
The MP spec det of the SFC conducts special security police missions abroad and at home, both autonomously and as supportive partner. For this purpose, the military spec det needs especially selected, equipped and trained personnel.
Candidates for the MP spec det who satisfy basic requirements are subjected, after a medical check-up, to a strenuous four-day practical mental and physical selection test.
After passing pre-selection, members of the MP spec det attend a 31-week basic course, followed by special courses and training. Themes include techniques relating to military close protection/ guard / convoy protection, intervention and infantry / living in the field / shooting / the use of special weapons, emergency medical training, rope and helicopter techniques, special vehicle driving techniques, reconnaissance, psychology and communication, language training, precision shooting as well as leadership training and tactics.
Currently, the MP spec det consists of graduates from MP school as well as staff from different civilian police forces.
