Requirements, selection and training SFC

Concept SFC

What does Special Forces Command stand for?

In order to lead and work together, on the basis of a common fundament, which is human and performance oriented, the members of all organisational units, within Special Forces Command are selected, trained and further educated according to the following principles:

HONOUR

  • We take full responsibility for our actions;
  • We appreciate and constructively question ‘own’ and ‘foreign’ performances;
  • We keep our word and advance as good examples.

MODESTY

  • We do not want to attract attention through self-aggrandisement; our actions should speak for us;
  • We strive for precision and maximum performance;
  • Mission completion has priority over our personal needs.

UNITY

  • Together we master every situation;
  • We complete our mission because everyone contributes to its success;
  • We stand behind our comrades, subordinates and superiors.

This illustrates, that within the Special Forces Command

  • humans and their characteristics stand in the centre;
  • precision and maximum performance with precedence of quality (before quantity) are adduced;
  • Special forces members cannot be selected or trained in masses or hastily.

Ways to SFC

Information about requirements, selection and training you receive as follows:

How to join the ARD 10

Completion of the demanding tasks of ARD 10 demand above-average mental and physical performance. Therefore, the future members of ARD 10 are submitted to a rigorous, multi-step selection process, which is carried out once a year.

How to join the MP spec det

The MP spec det of the SFC conducts special security police missions abroad and at home, both autonomously and as supportive partner. For this purpose, the military spec det needs especially selected, equipped and trained personnel. Candidates for the MP spec det who satisfy basic requirements are subjected, after a medical check-up, to a strenuous four-day practical mental and physical selection test.

How to join the SFTC

The way to join the SFTC starts with recruitment, which begins approximately one year before basic training commences lasting 2 days and taking place in one of the six recruitment centres of the Swiss Armed forces.
