Recruitment and training for peace support missions

Operational control for peace support deployments abroad lies with the Swiss Armed Forces INTernational Command (SWISSINT) situated in Stans (Canton of Nidwalden, NW). It is responsible for the planning, the preparation and command and control of all Swiss military contingents and single persons in a peace supporting deployment abroad.

SWISSINT with its about 20 full-time staff and a flexible number of project oriented staff is under direct command and control of the chief of the operations staff of the armed forces.

SWISSINT follows the political guidelines of the Swiss Federal Council and / or the parliament as well as the guidelines of the CO of the armed forces.
