NNSC (Korea)

Welcome to the Swiss participation to the mission NNSC in Korea

On 7 July 1953 the Federal Council decided to authorise the Department of Defence to make preparations for sending a committee for the 'Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission in Korea' (NNSC). During the following months, instalments totalling 146 representatives from Switzerland went to Korea, to monitor the cease-fire between South and North Korea and, in particular, to prevent rearmament.

Please find more information on Swiss involvement in NNSC here.
