Swiss participation in the UNMIN

Ein Schweizer Offizier überprüft eine abgegebene Waffe.

On 15 January 2011, the UN Security Council ended the mandate of Resolution 1939 in Nepal that was based on UN Resolution 1740. The Swiss Armed Forces had in accordance with the Federal Council’s decision of 14 February 2007 supported UNMIN with qualified officers for the entire duration of its mission. When the mission was terminated, the three Swiss nationals stationed in Nepal returned home.
